Public Participation in Legislative Oversight
Public participation contributes to effective legislative oversight. In this short course, civil society organizations (CSOs), watchdogs, and other stakeholders assist with holding governments accountable. The institutionalization of public engagement is highlighted as essential for creating a conducive environment for sustained involvement. Lastly, various forms of CSO engagement, such as public hearings, written reports, and advisory committees, are explored, along with step-by-step approaches for implementation for each of these approaches.
